K-12 ITAD
Retire Chromebooks, iPads, MacBooks, staff laptops and mixed district technology through one documented process — with pickup or managed logistics, data sanitization, value recovery, recycling, and board-ready closeout reporting.
Built for school districts, charter schools, private schools, and education technology programs — not consumer device sales or public drop-off.
District Case Study
A Pennsylvania K-12 district retired more than 5,300 mixed devices across multiple schools through a single documented project. arcITAD coordinated the logistics, reconciled received assets building by building, and used recovered value from the higher-value devices to offset the cost of retiring the older, low-value fleet — closing the project out with board-ready reporting.
Read the case study →The most common model for mixed district fleets. Recoverable value from higher-value MacBooks, iPads and staff laptops can offset the cost of retiring older Chromebooks and low-value devices, so the project is documented and reconciled as one closeout.
For strong fleets with sufficient resale value, a direct buyout for eligible devices.
For low-, no- or negative-value assets that still require secure handling, data sanitization, recycling and documentation.
We review your asset list or approximate counts and recommend the right service model and reporting level.
Devices are organized by building, type and disposition path.
We arrange regional pickup or managed shipping across your buildings.
Received assets are logged and reconciled against your inventory.
Data sanitization aligned with NIST SP 800-88 guidelines, using third-party sanitization tools.
Eligible devices are resold to recover value against the project.
Non-recoverable equipment is routed to R2v3 recycling and downstream destruction by scope.
You receive reconciled reporting, certificates and final financial settlement.
For districts in our region, arcITAD can arrange direct pickup and coordinate collection across multiple buildings so devices from every school are accounted for. For larger or more distant projects, we arrange managed national shipping or freight where appropriate. Pickup and logistics are scoped per project based on volume, value, site access and building count.
Yes. Most districts refresh over the summer or during scheduled breaks, and we plan pickups and logistics around your calendar and building access. Larger projects can also be phased across the school year when that works better for your team.
Chromebooks, iPads and other devices are frequently enrolled in Google Admin, Apple School Manager or another MDM. Your team should deprovision or release devices from management before or as part of the project. We can talk through the deprovisioning steps during scoping so nothing stalls at intake.
Data-bearing devices receive data sanitization aligned with NIST SP 800-88 guidelines using third-party sanitization tools. Where physical destruction is required by scope, it is coordinated through our downstream process rather than performed on demand at your site. Certificates of erasure or destruction are provided where required.
Projects are scoped by volume, asset value and logistics. arcITAD serves districts and schools by appointment — it is not a public consumer drop-off or single-device service. Send your counts and we will determine the appropriate path.
It depends on the fleet. Some projects generate a buyout, many mixed fleets use recoverable value to offset retirement and logistics costs, and some low-value projects carry a processing fee. We confirm the economics during the assessment before any work begins — not every project results in a payout.
You receive per-school reconciliation, serial-level records where scoped, certificates of erasure and destruction where required, and a financial closeout summary — the board-ready package districts need to close out a refresh.
Send your asset list or approximate counts and we will recommend the right service model, logistics path and reporting level for your district refresh.
